Frederique Apffel-Marglin

Frédérique Apffel-Marglin is a Professor Emerita of Anthropology at Smith College, where she has also taught at Harvard, Wellesley, and Wesleyan University. She founded the Sachamama Center for Biocultural Regeneration in the Peruvian High Amazon in 2009, which she directs, and is a prolific author of fifteen books and over seventy articles focusing on ritual, gender, political ecology, and Andean-Amazonian shamanism.
