Frederick Walter King

Dr. William Frederick King was a Canadian astronomer and geodesist born in England who played a central role in founding and developing major scientific institutions in Canada, including the Geodetic Survey of Canada and the Dominion Observatory. He advanced geodetic surveying across western and northern Canada, helped define the Canada-United States boundary, and served as President of the Royal Society of Canada in 1911.
