Franz Wanderlust
Franz 'Frans' Blom was a Danish explorer and archaeologist born into a wealthy Copenhagen family on August 9, 1893. Driven by wanderlust, he ventured into the unmapped Mayan jungles of Mexico in the 1920s, discovering ancient ruins and becoming the first to document how Mayan temples aligned with celestial observations, significantly advancing anthropological knowledge. His adventurous life ended tragically as an obscure alcoholic in the jungle after decades of exploration.[1]
