Frank S. Pyke
Frank Sherman Pyke (1941–2011) was an Australian sports scientist, educator, author, Australian rules footballer, and sports administrator who played 130 games for Perth in the WANFL and served as a professor at universities in Australia, Canada, and the United States.[1] He pioneered the Athlete Career and Education (ACE) program as the inaugural executive director of the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) from 1990 to 2006.[1][2] Pyke notably rehabilitated cricketer Dennis Lillee's career-threatening back injury in the early 1970s and authored books on sports science and medicine.[1][2]
