Frank 1864-1918 Wedekind

Benjamin Franklin Wedekind (1864-1918) was a German playwright, actor, and dramatist known for his provocative works criticizing bourgeois attitudes toward sexuality, such as 'Spring Awakening,' 'Earth Spirit,' and 'Pandora's Box.'[1][2] His episodic style with fragmented dialogue and caricature bridged naturalism and Expressionism, influencing epic theatre and the Theatre of the Absurd.[1][2] Born in Hanover to a German-American father and Swiss mother, he lived in Switzerland during his youth before settling in Munich.[1][2]
