Francoise Barbira Freedman
Dr. Françoise Barbira Freedman is the founder and director of Birthlight, a pioneer in baby swimming and yoga, and a medical anthropologist and affiliated lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge.[1][2][4] She is recognized worldwide as the 'Grandmother of Water Babies' for her innovative contributions to pregnancy yoga, postnatal yoga, baby yoga, and aqua yoga, and has authored ten books on these topics, including Yoga for Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond (2004) and How to Teach Your Baby to Swim (2010).[1][3] Educated in Paris, France, and Cambridge, UK, she has trained thousands of teachers globally and is a mother of four and grandmother.[3][5]
