Francois Neyt
François Neyt is a Belgian Benedictine monk, professor emeritus at the Catholic University of Louvain, and renowned expert in African art, specializing in Central African statuary such as Hemba and Songye works. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo (then Zaïre), he lived there for nearly twenty years as a philosopher, archaeologist, ethnologist, and art historian. He has authored numerous books on African tribal art, including 'La Grande Statuaire Hemba du Zaïre' and 'Songye: The Formidable Statuary of Central Africa.'
