Francois G Richard

François G. Richard is a historical anthropologist and archaeologist at the University of Chicago whose research focuses on West Africa, especially the history of Senegal’s Siin region, as well as French colonialism, imperialism, and postcolonial France. His work also engages the Atlantic world, post-independence Mexico, and the relationships between people, objects, history, and memory.
