Francis Ledwidge

Francis Ledwidge was an Irish poet from Slane, County Meath, known for his lyrical nature poetry and his poignant war poems written during World War I. He was killed in action in 1917, leaving behind a modest but enduring body of work that reflects his rural Irish upbringing and the tragedy of war.
