Francis Galton

Francis Galton (1822–1911) was an English explorer, statistician, anthropologist, and polymath best known for his pioneering work in statistics, heredity, and eugenics. He developed important statistical concepts such as correlation and regression toward the mean, and also made influential contributions to meteorology, fingerprint identification, and the study of human intelligence.
