Fran Manushkin
Fran Manushkin is an American children's book author born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 2, 1942. After studying at the University of Illinois, Roosevelt University, and earning a bachelor's degree from Chicago Teachers College, she moved to New York City, worked in publishing as an editor at Harper & Row and others, and published her first book, Baby, in 1972. She has written numerous books for young readers, including Jewish holiday stories, and continues to live in New York City.[1][2][3][5]
