Florence Parry Heide
Florence Parry Heide (1919–2011) was a prolific American author of children's books, writing over 100 titles that often included poetry and prose complemented by illustrations from renowned artists. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she graduated from UCLA in 1939 and later made her home in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she passed away at the age of 92. Her notable works include 'The Shrinking of Treehorn' and 'Princess Hyacinth,' celebrated for their imaginative storytelling and creative appeal to young readers.
