Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale (1820–1910) was an English social reformer, statistician, and the founder of modern nursing. She rose to prominence during the Crimean War, where her work improving hospital sanitation and organizing nursing care dramatically reduced death rates and transformed nursing into a respected profession.
