Florence Kennedy

Florence Kennedy, more commonly known as Florynce 'Flo' Kennedy, was a pioneering African American lawyer, radical feminist, and civil rights activist who played a leading role in the Black Power and second-wave feminist movements of the 1960s and 1970s. She founded the Feminist Party, helped establish the National Organization for Women (NOW), and was renowned for her outspoken advocacy of women's rights, gay rights, and racial justice. Kennedy died in 2000 at the age of 84, leaving a vibrant legacy as one of the most dazzling and irreverent activists of the 20th century.
