Farley MOWAT
Farley McGill Mowat (1921-2014) was a renowned Canadian writer, environmentalist, and naturalist celebrated for his books on wildlife, the Canadian north, and Indigenous peoples, including *People of the Deer* (1952) and *Never Cry Wolf* (1963), which sold millions and were translated into 52 languages. His adventurous life included early explorations of nature, World War II military service, and lifelong advocacy for environmental causes and critiques of government policies affecting wildlife and Indigenous communities. Mowat published over 45 books, blending personal narrative with advocacy, though his works sparked controversy over their factual accuracy, which he defended as storytelling to reveal deeper truths.[1][2][4]
