Ewout Frankema

Ewout Frankema is a professor and chair of Economic and Environmental History at Wageningen University and research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Groningen in 2008 with a thesis on the historical evolution of inequality in Latin America. His research focuses on long-term comparative economic development of developing regions (Africa, Latin America, Asia) and the historical origins of present-day global inequality.
