Evie Woods is the pen name of Evie Gaughan, an Irish novelist born in Galway and living on the West Coast of Ireland, best known for her international bestseller The Lost Bookshop, which has sold over a million copies and been translated into over 30 languages.[1][2][3][4] Her works blend history, myth, and magical realism, exploring themes of resilience, belonging, and the transformative power of stories, with previous novels including The Story Collector and The Mysterious Bakery on Rue de Paris under her real name.[4][6][9] She has been shortlisted for a British Book Award in 2024, received the Nielsen Gold Bestseller award in 2025, and is currently working on her fifth novel, The Violin Maker’s Secret.[2][3][4]
