Eugene Fitch 1841-1911 Ware
Eugene Fitch Ware (1841–1911) was an American soldier, lawyer, politician, and writer who served as a homesteader in Kansas and later as the U.S. Commissioner of Pensions. He gained literary recognition for his historical works, including 'The Indian War of 1864,' and for his poetry published under the pseudonym 'Ironquill,' which earned him the unofficial title of Kansas's poet laureate.
