Estella Gahala

Estella Marie Gahala (née Crouse Ranck Lange), Ph.D., was an educator and author specializing in foreign language instruction, notably writing textbooks like 'En español!' and articles on increasing student participation in language classes. Born in Alva, Oklahoma, she earned degrees including a B.A. from University of Wichita, M.A.s from University of Colorado and Middlebury College, and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
