Ernesto Screpanti

Ernesto Screpanti is an Italian economist born in Rome in 1948, known for his heterodox studies in political economy, history of economic thought, and Marxist approaches to economic and social issues. He earned degrees in sociology from the University of Trento (1973), a postgraduate diploma in mathematical techniques for economic research from Eni Mattei's School in Milan (1975), and a B.A./M.A. in economics from the University of Cambridge (1977). He has taught at universities including Trento, Florence, Trieste, Parma, New York, Rio de Janeiro, and since 1996 as full professor at the University of Siena.
