Ernest L. Bogart
Ernest Ludlow Bogart (1870-1958) was an American economist and economic historian who earned his A.B. and A.M. from Princeton University and Ph.D. from the University of Halle-Wittenberg in 1897. He joined the University of Illinois in 1909 as Associate Professor of Economics, became department head in 1920, and served until his retirement in 1938, authoring numerous books including Economic History of the United States (1907) while also serving as President of the American Economic Association in 1930.
