Ernest Becker

Ernest Becker (1924–1974) was an American cultural anthropologist and interdisciplinary thinker known for his work in philosophical anthropology and the human condition. He authored nine books, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning *The Denial of Death* (1973), which explores humanity's denial of mortality and its cultural implications. Despite a turbulent academic career due to his broad, non-specialized approach, his ideas significantly influenced social psychology and existential thought.
