Erin Van Rheenen is a writer born in Portland, Oregon, who has lived extensively in the San Francisco Bay Area and Costa Rica. She writes fiction and nonfiction exploring family dynamics, cultural differences, and the power of place, with her debut novel 'You Could Be Happy Here' following a woman searching for her father in Costa Rica amid personal crisis and environmental change. Previously, she authored travel guides and worked at San Francisco's Exploratorium.
