Eric Gilbert

Eric Gilbert is an American computer scientist and the John Derby Evans Associate Professor in the University of Michigan School of Information, with a courtesy appointment in Computer Science and Engineering. He earned a B.S. with highest distinction in mathematics and computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001 and is renowned for his foundational contributions to social computing, HCI, and the design and analysis of social media systems, with over 14,000 citations and an h-index of 44. Currently on sabbatical as a Visiting Scholar with Harvard's Berkman Klein Center Rebooting Social Media initiative, his research focuses on building and studying social computing systems.
