Eric A Kimmel

Eric A. Kimmel is an American author of over 150 children's books, renowned for retellings of folktales, especially Jewish and Yiddish tales, including the Caldecott Honor Book Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he earned degrees from Lafayette College, New York University, and the University of Illinois, taught at universities including Portland State where he is Professor Emeritus, and has won multiple awards like five National Jewish Book Awards and the Sydney Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award.
