Emma Calvé

Emma Calvé, born Rosa Emma Calvet, was a celebrated French operatic dramatic soprano renowned as the most vivid Carmen of her day and a leading star of the Belle Époque. She achieved international fame performing at venues like the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Royal Opera in London, and later wrote an autobiography titled 'Sous tous les ciels j'ai chanté'.
