Emily. Judson
Emily Chubbuck, known by her pen name Fanny Forester, was an American writer born into poverty in Eaton, New York, who overcame hardship to become a teacher and acclaimed author of novels and articles. She married missionary Adoniram Judson in 1846, accompanying him to Burma where she contributed to mission work with her vibrant spirit and writing talent. After his death in 1850, she returned to the United States, cared for her family, wrote additional books including a memoir of Judson's previous wife, and died of tuberculosis in 1854.
