Hughes is a horror writer and editor, formerly the editor of Unbound Worlds and TorNightfire.com, who curates lists of new scary books and contributes to publications like the New York Times, Vulture, Reactor Magazine, Electric Literature, Nightmare Magazine, and Thrillist.[1][3][4] She authored her first book, Horror For Weenies: Everything You Need to Know About the Films You're Too Scared to Watch, and lives in western Massachusetts with her husband and four cats.[1][2]
