Emilio Abreu Gomez

Ermilo Abreu Gómez was a prominent Mexican writer, journalist, lecturer, historian, playwright, and essayist born in Mérida, Yucatán. He became a member of the Mexican Academy of Language in 1963 and taught at universities in the United States. His most famous work is *Canek* (1940), a novel about a Maya hero and revolutionary.[1][2][4]
