Emile Durkheim

Émile Durkheim (1858–1917) was a French sociologist and one of the principal founders of modern sociology. He helped establish sociology as an academic discipline and is best known for works such as "The Division of Labor in Society," "The Rules of Sociological Method," "Suicide," and "The Elementary Forms of Religious Life."
