Emil Schulthess

Emil Schulthess (1913-1996) was a Swiss photographer born in Zurich, initially trained as a graphic artist before studying photography under Hans Finsler and working for Conzett & Huber and the journal Du.[1][2][6] He became renowned for his monumental illustrated books on Africa, China, and the Soviet Union, which were international bestsellers, and for inventing the aerial panorama in the 1970s.[1][2] His most famous work is a 24-hour color panorama of the midnight sun taken in Norway in 1950.[1][2]
