Emeril Lagasse is an American chef, restaurateur, television personality, and cookbook author best known for helping popularize Cajun and Creole cuisine through his New Orleans restaurants and Food Network shows. He opened his flagship restaurant, Emeril’s, in 1990 and later became widely known for programs such as Essence of Emeril and Emeril Live, as well as his bestselling cookbooks.
