Ellis Peters
Ellis Peters was the pen name of Edith Mary Pargeter, an English author born in Horsehay, Shropshire, renowned for her historical and modern mystery novels, particularly the medieval Brother Cadfael Chronicles featuring a Benedictine monk detective.[1][2] She also wrote historical fiction, non-fiction, and translated Czech literature, earning honors like OBE and BEM.[2][5] Peters began her mystery series with the Felse family in 1951 and gained widespread fame with Cadfael in the 1970s.[3]
