Ellen Stoll Walsh (Author, Illustrator)

Ellen Stoll Walsh is a children's author and illustrator born on September 2, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, who graduated from the Maryland Institute of Art with a B.F.A. in 1964.[1][2] Inspired by reading Leo Lionni's book to her son on his third birthday in 1975, she began creating picture books that teach skills like counting and color mixing, with her first published work being Brunus and the New Bear.[1][3][5] She has produced over a dozen beloved titles, including the modern classics Mouse Paint and Mouse Count, and resides in upstate New York.[1][2][4][6]
