Elizabeth Reid

Eliza Reid is a Canadian-Icelandic bestselling author, public speaker, and gender equality advocate who served as Iceland's unofficial First Lady from 2016 to 2024 while her husband was President. Born and raised near Ottawa, Canada, she moved to Iceland in 2003 after meeting her husband in the UK, and is the cofounder of the Iceland Writers Retreat. Her works include the nonfiction bestseller *Secrets of the Sprakkar* (2022) and her debut novel *Death of a Diplomat* (2025).
