Elizabeth Marie Pope

Elizabeth Marie Pope (1917–1992) was an American author and educator specializing in Elizabethan England, the works of John Milton and William Shakespeare, and young-adult fantasy. She taught English at Mills College in California for 38 years and received the Newbery Honor in 1975 for her historical fantasy novel 'The Perilous Gard'.
