Elizabeth Economy

Elizabeth C. Economy (born December 27, 1962) is an American political scientist and expert on China's politics, foreign policy, and environmental challenges. She served as Senior Advisor for China to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 2021-2023 and is a Senior Fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, previously holding the C.V. Starr Senior Fellow and Director for Asia Studies position at the Council on Foreign Relations for over a decade. An award-winning author, her notable books include The World According to China (2022), The Third Revolution (2018), and The River Runs Black (2004).[1][2][3]
