Elizabeth Baird

Elizabeth Thérèse Baird (born Elizabeth Fisher) was an early resident of Wisconsin and one of the first writers to describe pioneer life in the state. Her memoirs and newspaper stories provided important first-hand accounts of territorial Wisconsin, including Green Bay, the fur trade, and the Peshtigo Fire.
