Elisavietta Ritchie
Elisavetta Ritchie (1932-2025) was an acclaimed American poet, storyteller, translator, editor, photographer, and workshop leader known for her multilingual works from Russian, French, Macedonian, Malay, and Indonesian. She authored seventeen poetry collections, including Tightening The Circle Over Eel Country, which won the Great Lakes Colleges Association’s New Writer’s Award, and Awaiting Permission to Land, recipient of the 2001 Anamnesis Poetry Award. Married to writer Clyde Farnsworth, she was a prolific 'multi-tasking' literary figure based in the Chesapeake Bay area.
