Eliot Freidson

Eliot Freidson was an American sociologist renowned for his foundational work in the sociology of professions and medical sociology. His seminal book "Profession of Medicine" (1970) critically examined the power and authority of the medical profession. He was a professor at New York University and served as president of the American Sociological Association.
