Eli Sharabi

Eli Sharabi grew up in South Tel Aviv to Yemenite and Moroccan parents before moving to Kibbutz Be’eri as a teenager, where he later married British woman Lianne and had two daughters, Noya and Yahel.[1][2] On October 7, 2023, he was abducted by Hamas from his home in Kibbutz Be’eri and held hostage for 491 days until his release on February 8, 2025, during which his wife and daughters were murdered and his brother Yossi was killed in captivity.[1][2][3] His memoir *Hostage*, the first by a released Israeli hostage and the fastest-selling book in Israeli history, details his survival, and he has become a global advocate for remaining hostages.[2][4][5]
