Elfrida Vipont

Elfrida Vipont (1902–1992), born Elfrida Vipont Brown, was a British author renowned for her children's literature and historical novels, often reflecting her Quaker heritage. She gained significant acclaim for her 'Lark' series, particularly 'The Lark on the Wing,' which won the Carnegie Medal in 1951. Beyond writing, she was a professional singer and served as a headmistress for a Quaker evacuation school during World War II.
