Eleanor Shearer

Eleanor Shearer is a mixed-race writer and the granddaughter of Windrush generation immigrants, who splits her time between London and Ramsgate on the English coast.[1][4] She holds a Master's degree in Politics from the University of Oxford, where she studied the legacy of slavery and the case for reparations, with fieldwork in St. Lucia and Barbados inspiring her debut novel River Sing Me Home.[1][2] She works at a think tank, focusing on topics like democratising corporate governance and reparations for historic injustices, and is known for historical novels about the aftermath of slavery.[2][5]
