Elaine Jones
Elaine R. Jones is an American civil rights attorney and activist born on March 2, 1944, in Norfolk, Virginia. She joined the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF) in 1970 after graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law and became its first female president and director-counsel from 1993 to 2004, expanding its work into areas like health care and environmental justice.[2][3]
