Eileen Spinelli
Eileen Spinelli (née Mesi), born August 16, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American author renowned for her children's picture books and poetry that blend rhyme with insights into children's perspectives. A poet and creative writing teacher, she began writing for young audiences in 1979 after raising her six children and is married to fellow author Jerry Spinelli. Her works include rhyming list books like The Giggle and Cry Book and novels for children.
