Edwin A. Abbott

Edwin A. Abbott was an English schoolmaster, theologian, and author born in London on December 20, 1838. He studied at St. John's College, Cambridge, became headmaster of the City of London School in 1865, and retired in 1889 to focus on writing. Best known for his novella Flatland (1884), he also wrote influential works on Shakespearean grammar, Francis Bacon, and Christian theology, dying on October 12, 1926.
