Edward Schillebeeckx

Edward Schillebeeckx (November 12, 1914 – December 23, 2009) was a prominent Belgian Catholic theologian and Dominican priest born in Antwerp, known for his influential contributions to the Second Vatican Council and his theology books translated into many languages[1][4]. He taught at the Catholic University of Nijmegen and earned a doctorate in theology in 1952, later authoring major works such as *Jesus: An Experiment in Christology* and *Christ: The Experience of Jesus as Lord*[2]. Schillebeeckx is considered one of the most important theologians of the 20th century, though his positions were often controversial and deemed heterodox by some[10].
