Edward Marston

Edward Marston, born Keith Miles in 1940 in South Wales, is a Welsh author renowned for his historical crime novels, including the Nicholas Bracewell series launched with *The Queen's Head* in 1988 and the bestselling Railway Detective series.[1][2][5] Before becoming a full-time writer, he studied Modern History at Oxford, lectured in the subject, worked as an actor, director, and story editor, and wrote numerous plays and drama episodes.[1][2] Under pseudonyms like Conrad Allen and Keith Miles, he has authored over 100 books spanning various historical periods, and he served as chairman of the Crime Writers’ Association.[3][4][5]
