Edward J. Marolda
Edward J. Marolda is a renowned U.S. naval historian who served for over three decades at the Naval History and Heritage Command, rising to Senior Historian and Acting Director of Naval History before retiring in 2008. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he earned his BA from Pennsylvania Military College, MA from Georgetown University, and PhD from George Washington University, specializing in U.S. Navy operations during the Cold War and Vietnam. He has authored, co-authored, or edited numerous books on naval history, including works on the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, and was named the 2024 Naval History Author of the Year.
