Eduard Mörike
Eduard Friedrich Mörike (1804–1875) was a prominent German Romantic poet, Lutheran pastor, and member of the Swabian School, known for his lyric poetry, novellas, and works often set to music as folk songs. Born in Ludwigsburg, he studied theology in Tübingen, served as pastor in Cleversulzbach from 1834, retired early for health reasons, and later became a professor of literature in Stuttgart until 1866.[1][2][3]
